Homemade Dinner Rolls

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
  • 3 cups lily bread flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Recipe

  • 1 scald ¾ cup of milk and cool to lukewarm.
  • 2 dissolve yeast in ¼ cup of hot water (110 to 115 degrees) in large mixing bowl, let stand 5 minutes.
  • 3 mix remaining ingredients and beat well with mixer.
  • 4 oil a large bowl, turn so both sides are oiled, cover with wax paper till doubled in size.
  • 5 punch down, form into rolls on greased cookie sheet and let rise until double in size.
  • 6 bake in preheated 400 degree f oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • 7 brush tops with butter or margarine.
  • 8 prep time is in the rising.
  • 9 if using bread machine follow mfg instructions.
