Orange-cinnamon Bread (bread Machine)

Total Time: 3 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 orange, zest of
  • 1 tablespoon gluten, plus
  • 1 teaspoon gluten
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons fast rising yeast (or 2 3/4 t. bread machine yeast)
  • 3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2-2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe

  • 1 add all the dough ingredients to the pan according to the order in the manufacturer’s directions.
  • 2 set crust on medium and program for the basic cycle; press start.
  • 3 when the baking cycle ends, immediately remove the bread from the pan and place it on a rack.
  • 4 place a plate or piece of waxed paper under the rack.
  • 5 make the glaze: combine the powdered sugar, orange juice, and vanilla in a bowl; beat with a small whisk until smooth.
  • 6 with a large spoon, drizzle the bread with the glaze, letting it drip down the sides.
