Ingredients
- 8 eggs
- 2 tablespoons chinese black tea
- 2 star anise
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 4 cups boiling water
Recipe
- 1 boil eggs for 10 minutes.
- 2 soak eggs in cold water until cold.
- 3 crack the eggs shells-do not shell; set aside while preparing sauce.
- 4 pour boiling water into chinese black tea; let stand for 5 minutes.
- 5 pour tea into a saucepan (straining out tea leaves); add soy sauce, star anise, and salt to tea; add eggs and boil in mixture for 20 minutes.
- 6 remove shells; serve cold.
