Skips Easy Biscuits

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons shortening or 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 hint if using self rising flour, omit baking powder.
  • 2 cut shortning or butter into flour.
  • 3 with a food processor, add flour, salt, baking powder,and pulse.
  • 4 add shortning or butter, and pulse till crumbly.
  • 5 do not over pulse, avoid heating shortning.
  • 6 add milk and mix till combined.
  • 7 add flour as nessary to form slightly stickey dough. do not over work!
  • 8 on a flowerd surface with floured hands. flatten dough to about 1/2 inch thick.
  • 9 cut biscuits with any cutter, and place on cookie sheet or cast iron skillet.(cast iron works best.
  • 10 sides touching for maxium rise.
  • 11 bake at 400 degrees till golden brown, about 30 minutes.
  • 12 serve with gravy or beef stew.
