Marble Eggs

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons chinese black tea
  • 2 star anise
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 4 cups boiling water

Recipe

  • 1 boil eggs for 10 minutes. soak eggs in cold water until cold. crack egg shells- do not shell; set aside while preparing sauce. pour boiling water into chinese black tea; let stand for 5 minutes. pour tea into a saucepan (straining out tea leaves); add soy sauce, star aniseeds and salt to tea;add eggs and boil in mixture for 20 minutes. remove shells. serve cold.
